The retreat begins on Wednesday afternoon, with a warm welcome and introductions between 15:00 and 17:00. You’re invited to join an optional meditation/yoga session at 18:00, followed by dinner at 19:00.
We come to a gentle close on Sunday morning, after breakfast and yoga.*
So, as a guide, we recommend arriving in Grasse around lunchtime on Wednesday, and planning your onward travel from late morning on Sunday.
Of course, when you arrive in – or leave – France is entirely up to you. You may wish to linger in Nice (by name and nature), explore nearby Provençal villages, or indulge in a little Riviera glamour in Cannes, Monaco, or Saint-Tropez.
*A full itinerary is available on request.
-
The simplest route is via Nice (NCE) Airport, with regular direct flights from a range of UK and international airports. Flight time is usually around two hours.
Alternatively, you may prefer to fly into Paris or Marseille and travel south by high-speed train via Cannes/Nice.
Road-tripping is also an option – just expect 12–20+ hours of travel, depending on your starting point.
-
Transfers aren’t included in the retreat price, but we can arrange them on request. A one-way journey is approximately €75, and if several guests arrive around the same time, we’ll gladly help coordinate shared transfers to reduce the cost.
Other options include:
Train from Nice (nice Ville station) to Grasse –around €12, tickets via Trainline or at the station
Taxi – usually around €100 one-way
Just let us know your plans – we’re here to help.

That depends a little on the season.
For spring retreats, expect mild temperatures in the mid–late teens (°C), with cooler mornings and evenings. A light jumper or wrap is highly recommended.
All equipment for perfume workshops and yoga is provided – simply bring comfortable clothing you can stretch and relax in.
A few other useful things:
A waterproof or umbrella – when it rains in Grasse, it really rains
Sensible shoes for strolling cobbled streets
Swimwear for the pool
Sun protection for those soft Provençal rays
We strongly recommend travelling with hold luggage. You’ll almost certainly fall in love with a beautifully bottled something-or-other – and the best way to bring that home safely is in checked bags.
-
Yes – per our Ts & Cs, we strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that includes medical cover, cancellation and travel disruption. Please choose a policy appropriate to your needs.
-
Absolutely. We take great care to ensure that all dietary needs are accommodated without compromise on taste or joy. Please let us know in advance so we can plan with our catering partners.
-
The Bastide is a historic property, and regrettably it is not yet fully accessible for all mobility needs. We’re continually exploring ways to improve this, and we warmly encourage you to get in touch so we can discuss your needs and any reasonable adjustments we might make.
-
We keep groups small, with five to seven guests per retreat. This makes the experience intimate, unhurried and personal - allowing space for meaningful conversation, quiet moments, and genuine connection with both the work and the people around you.
